Parents can't watch what their kids do so we need censorship???

Apparently parents can no longer watch what their kids are doing so the government needs to step in. This is what censorship is, and censorship is bad. The only need for censoring anything is because parents are too lazy to watch what their kids do. Parents, here is a tip for you if you don't like something that has swearing, nudity, or anything deemed "obscene". TURN IT. If you are watching television, press either channel up, channel down, or off. Problem solved. If you are listening to music either press mute, or turn it off. If you for some reason can't do the previous things listed, cover either their ears or eyes, which ever needs to be done. If they are looking at porn on the computer, do not get a program that blocks web sites (for one thing they don't always work) but instead beat the shit out of them and they will never do it again. The definition of censorship should be "lazy parents can't do their job so someone else needs to do it for them." God I hate morons.

Here are a few of the reasons I hate censorship. One reason I hate it is because it is an obvious attempt to violate the first amendment. Before any more discussions on the first amendment and any other amendments and rights, we must first discuss when these apply. Yes you have right to free speech, but you must be responsible for what you say. You can't be arrested for everything you say because a few people don't like it, but if what you say jeopardizes another person's life you can be held accountable.

Now that that is out of the way, the second reason I hate censorship. It takes away responsibility of people in charge. The FCC fines radio stations if profanity is used on the air. I think it should be up to individual radio stations on whether or not they will use profanity on air. If they choose not to use profanity, and a DJ does, the individual station is responsible for fining the DJ. Censorship is only needed when people are too lazy to do stuff themselves.

Here is something else relating to bad parenting. It deals with myspace and parents getting mad because predators may be able to get a hold of their kids. Well guess what there are ways to prevent this that myspace has set up. First of all any kids under the age of 13 cannot sign up with myspace at all. Secondly, kids under the age of 16 have their profile set to private automatically and it cannot be changed. This means that a person has to be the kid's friend to view their profile. The third thing myspace has done is to provide safety tips that can be found here. So quit complaining and do your damn jobs as parents.
